Top Three Restaurant for Mexican Dining in Boston

In the mood for Mexican tonight? Whether you are on a weekend getaway to New England, a guest of Clarendon Square Bed and Breakfast, or a resident of the city, Boston has several great choices to pick from. Our three favorites are dishing up authentic and innovative cuisine, have distinct and inviting atmospheres and are sure to leave you coming back for more.

1. Temazcal Cantina - There are very few views in Boston as breathtaking as the one from Temazcal Cantina. Nestled into the heart of the Boston Seaport District just steps from the Boston Tea Party Museum, Temazcal features sweeping Boston Harbor views, more than 300 bottles of tequila to choose from and an elevated menu sure to delight. Instead of opting for traditional Guacamole, try their lobster version with large chunks of Maine lobster and Serrano chilies. The chilie rellano is served with a pepitas quinoa, an innovative and delicious take on traditional rice. Their skillet jalapeno cheddar corn bread with anejo honey butter is a must order!

2. Cassa Romero - When you step from their side alley entrance into Cassa Romero, you are instantly transported into the heart of Mexico. With bright Talavera tiles adorning the walls, the space is unlike anything else you will find in Boston's Back Bay. Their signature tenderloin of pork marinated in oranges and smoked chipotle peppers is not to be missed. They also cater to vegetarians, with many hearty and flavorful options. They even feature several of their most popular recipes on their website!

3. Papagayo - With locations on Summer and West streets in Boston, Papagayo is a great mix of traditional, modern and fun. From ceviche and guacamole prepared tableside, to ancho chili glazed short ribs, the menu is eclectic and sure to please anyone who walks through the door. They also feature more traditional options including enchiladas, tacos and burritos. We love the presentation of their fish tacos! Make sure to save room for dessert, you won't find their famous tequila snow cone anywhere else in Boston!

So whether you go with Temazcal Cantina, Cassa Romero or Papagayo, you are sure to enjoy your Mexican dining experience. We truly enjoy that all three restaurants have thoughtful cocktail menus, premium tequilas and a wine menu that enhances the menu. Be sure to check out some of our other favorite picks for dining at our best Boston restaurants page. Guests of our New England bed and breakfast can ask one of the Clarendon Square Hosts to make them reservations during their next visit!

Things To Do in Boston - Thoreau Photography Exhibit

If you are like the staff at our boston bed and breakfast, and are interested in work by the famous Henry David Thoreau and enjoy photography exhibits, then the Harvard Museum of Natural History has the ideal event for you. Now through September 1, 2014 the museum has an exhibit created by photographer Scott Miller. Miller's exhibit entitled "Thoreau's Maine Woods: A Journey in Photographs with Scot Miller", is in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the publication of The Main Woods by Henry David Thoreau.

Scott Miller spent time retracing the footsteps of Thoreau, and is able to bring to life the words in Thoreau's book. This exhibit features stunning photos of places that Thoreau visited and wrote about. Scott Miller has also completed photography projects on Thoreau's famous book Walden. This exhibit brings together two great artists, Thoreau and Miller, and gives visitors a chance to fully immerse themselves in the beauty New England has to offer.  This is an experience you will not want to miss out on. This exhibit is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm every day. For more information about tickets and pricing Arts Boston.

Where should Mom & Dad stay when they come to visit Boston?

With the holidays quickly approaching and upcoming plans for mom and dad, family or friends to visit being made, many Bostonian's find themselves searching for the perfect place for their guests to stay. Many of the city's residents face similar challenges when it comes to hosting Mom and Dad when they visit New England: there just isn't enough space to comfortably accommodate them in your own home. Whether you live alone or with roommates, Bostonian's are rarely left with extra space that would allow them to host an extended visit from parents or relatives. Though the city boasts many fine hotels, often times parents, relatives and their city dwelling host want to create a more comfortable and real-life Boston experience than hotels can't offer.

Luxury bed and breakfasts are a great alternative when arranging or making suggestions for you guests' travel accommodations. Unlike big hotels, guests experience a warm, personal approach to exploring Boston. Located in vibrant, yet quiet residential neighborhoods, bed and breakfasts allow guests to have a more real life stay. From the conversation and social connections made over a hot cup of coffee at the breakfast table, to the unique furnishings and decor that they boast, luxury bed and breakfasts combine the five star hospitality you expect from a large hotel, with the comforts of home and distinct style of the neighborhood which it resides in.

Bed and breakfasts also offer your parents, relatives or friends a unique lens to view Boston from in the form of a host. Unlike hotels where staff rarely get to know guests, hosts at luxury inns are excited to know the individual preferences, wants and expectations their guests have for their time in the city. Clarendon Square hosts aim to create customized recommendations, restaurant reservations and information of interest to each guest as way to enhance their stay and provide fun things to do in Boston. From booking reservations at Sorellina, to arranging spa services at Emerge and passing along inside information about the Boston Freedom Trail,  you can rest easy knowing your parents or loved ones are in the qualified hands of an inn host.

So whether it is mom or dad, a good friend or you are looking for a place for yourself in another city, considering looking for a luxury bed and breakfast when making travel plans. The personal, comfortable yet refined approach to hospitality that they offer is sure to create a distinct travel experience you won't soon forget.
