Travel to Boston and Visit the Harbor Islands from our Boston bed and breakfast

Beyond the Boston Harbor, you will find the shores of more than 10 islands that make up the very rich Boston Harbor Islands. This National Park serves as an oasis in the middle of the bay, for those looking for a quick time out. Easily accessible from several points in Eastern Massachusetts, if you are in Boston, you are only minutes away from an island adventure.

The islands offer an array of activities sure to please people of all ages and interests. Right from the Boston Long Wharf, a short ferry ride can take you to Georges Island and Spectacle Island. It leaves every hour and if you leave early enough, you'll be able to visit both Islands in one day. This summer Georges Island has a fun packed schedule with events scheduled into October. Enjoy the music outdoors with several concerts, bring the kids to watch some plays, learn about the islands' and American History, have a picnic and hike your way around the land. Spectacle Island has events schedule into October with many sports and fishing clinics and the Native American Summer Festival.

Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday you can Tour the Lighthouses around the Islands and you will visit the first and oldest lighthouse station in the United States. This tour leaves twice a day from the Courthouse Dock.
The sailing points for these are in Boston and easily accessible by the MBTA and is only a short drive if you decide to drive or take a taxi.
